That is the exact reason why I don’t buy 3rd party memory cards… 176 or so hours lost on FFVII. All characters lvl 99, all materia maxed out and duplicated for each character, all best weapons, all chocobos, all minigames beat… ouch that hurt… it really hurt. It still brings a tear to my eye when I think about it (;_;)
Oh, MAN. That…I got nothing on that story. I am truly sorry for your loss.
I just lost a couple of hours on Link to the Past (on like, the fifth time I’ve tried to play through that game) which prompted me to create this day of tribute. I don’t know if I actually have the power to declare an International Day like this, but that won’t stop me from trying.
The worst one I can remember was System Shock 2. That game scared me like no other. I spent hours creeping through those hallways and tormenting myself psychologically, only to have my save file corrupt itself and boot me to the main menu every time I tried to continue. (A patch would later address this issue). There’s been some half-hearted attempts since but I never did get into it like I did that time.

The same thing happened to me for Zelda on the 64. So now i have to do all that stuff over again. DAMN YOU WATER TEMPLE!
