One thing I did try to do was say ‘Arigatou gozaimasu’ (thank you very much) as sincerely as possible. I believe our gratitude at just being understood must have been palpable sometimes.
I wasn’t sure if he meant my whole garage or the bin specifically, but he’s making an album in there and I feel like it’s rude to interrupt the creative process, so
