Hourly Comics Day pt. 1

Today was Hourly Comics Day, so on a whim I decided to participate. The challenge was to write a comic describing the previous hour for every hour you’re awake. I ended up accidentally cheating a little by sometimes just writing what I was thinking about rather than what actually happened, but in the end I think you get a pretty decent idea of my day all the same. There are seventeen comics total and they are not all of exceptionally high quality but I going to post a few each day this week and hope that quantity beats quality. Please enjoy, and don’t forget to check out the loads of charming submissions at the official forum.

not that you are not ALL respectable, dear readers

I still do this regularly; visit the main page of my site, but try to step outside myself and pretend that I am a first-time visitor. What impression do the first few comics make to somebody who doesn’t know me?

Usually I’m satisfied, occasionally I am alarmed. I mean, I often like to paint myself as a bit of a jerk for hilarity purposes, but part of the reason that’s funny is because people know I’m not really like that.

Does the irony always come across if people don’t really know me at all? I’m not always sure. Still, it can be an illuminating exercise. [January 10th, 2013]
